Job Summary:

Under the supervision of a Region Training Specialist, the Associate Behavior Technician (“ABI”) will implement evidence-based behavioral treatment plans, utilizing best practices in a professional, ethical, and compliant manner. These client -focused therapies could occur in a home, community, school, or clinic-based setting.

Essential Job Functions:

Under the supervision of the Region Training Specialist, implements skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols to clients.

Collects accurate skill acquisition and behavior reduction data on all areas targeted for intervention, as specified by case Clinical Supervisors.

Reports directly to the Region Training Specialist regarding training experience, professional development, and position advancement.

Reports client performance and parent concerns to case Clinical Supervisors.

Adequately prepares for each session in advance, arrives on time when traveling to home and other community settings, as required, to ensure high quality services.

Meets competency markers and certification requirements by projected dates.

Provides professional and effective services in all areas of performance, including following the appropriate scheduling, administrative, and payroll -related protocols:

o Accurately completes necessary documentation, including treatment notes and collecting client signatures, into the practice management system and keeps updated with other site-related documents and current medical reports for each child.

o Collects, records, and summarizes data on observable client behavior.

o Maintains client confidentiality.

o Utilizes safe and appropriate handling procedures when working with clients.

o Provides child-related communication to caregivers and the program team, as appropriate.

o Acquires technical knowledge by attending and completing required trainings.

Follows all Company policies and procedures, as outlined in Team Member Handbook and other written documents.

Performs other duties as requested.

Positions Supervised (Direct Reports):


Minimum Education or Training Equivalent to:

High School Diploma (required) ; and

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following disciplines: behavior analysis, psychology, education, or related field ; or

The equivalent of two years of college coursework at an accredited college or university, with a concentration in behavior analysis, psychology, education, or related field (education and listed fields of study preferred).

Minimum Additional Related Experience:

One year of related professional experience working with clients with autism spectrum disorders and/or other related developmental disabilities; in a multi-disciplinary team setting (preferred).

Licenses & Certifications:

N/A for hiring, expectation to become a Registered Behavior Technician within 90 days of hire and obtaining national or state certification (e.g., RBAI), as required by state within said guidelines (required) .

Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements:

Experienced in evidence-based methodologies in Applied Behavior Analysis; and the treatment of ASD (preferred).

Sensitive to working with ethnically, linguistically, culturally, and economically diverse populations.

Communicates effectively, verbally and in writing; American Sign Language or bilingual ability is a plus.

Knowledgeable and skilled in computer/word processing software and the internet.

Maintains accurate and up-to-date records to meet all requirements for Registered Behavior Technician certification.

Follows the RBT Ethics Code.

Completes required trainings.

Travels to multiple work sites, locally and out of town, regularly; reliable transportation needed; proof of valid driver’s license, current auto insurance identification card and registration, and clean Department of Motor Vehicle record; no conviction or pending driving under the influence prior to and during employment with Kadiant.

Must clear DOJ/FBI background check and exclusion screening processes, prior to and during employment.

Must provide proof of absence of Tuberculosis (TB) at time of hire and every 4 years, or sooner as required by funding sources, from last negative TB reading, and any additional follow-up testing.

Must provide immunization/immunity to Hepatitis B, Rubella, Rubeola, Mumps, Varicella, Pertussis (whooping cough).

Documentation of Physical Capability to Perform Services (with or without reasonable accommodation).

Permission to Disclose Health Screening Medical Information to required funding sources and complete background checks, as applicable.

Consistently demonstrates good judgment and decision-making skills.

Exercises confidentiality and discretion pertaining to client personal health information, providing minimum necessary information to only those directly involved with the client’s case and in an appropriate context (e.g., privacy, discernment for who is present).

Appropriately interprets and implements policies, procedures, and regulations.

Communicates effectively and in a timely manner, e.g., responds to phone calls, emails, and/or text messages within 24 hours.
