Description

As the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), you’ll lead all strategy and execution of technology at Company. You’ll have 4 primary areas of responsibility: Team & Executive Leadership, Technology Strategy, Process & Methodology, and Cross-Functional Collaboration. You’ll be a member of the Executive Team responsible for the overall strategy, leadership, and success across the company. You’ll also play a key role in scaling technology teams, fundraising, and taking the company public.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership

  • Oversee a 100+ person team in Romania and Poland across Engineering, IT & Security
  • Directly manage senior team leads across each group
  • Coach and mentor various team members outside of direct reports
  • Continue to optimize a matrix structure across multiple geographies
  • Facilitate the performance review process and deliver individual reviews to senior staff
  • Facilitate communication across the department by leading all-hands and department leadership meetings
  • Ensure technology standards and best practices are met
  • Work with local leadership to ensure a difference-making culture
  • Troubleshoot personnel issues to ensure resolution inline with our standards
  • Help plan and facilitate training and professional development activities
  • Serve as a member of the company’s senior leadership team
  • Participate in annual planning activities
  • Participate in activities to monitor the health of the business
  • Provide impactful insights into the company’s strategic direction
  • Represent Company at technology conferences and at executive level customer engagements
  • Participate in fundraising activities

Technology Strategy

  • Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of the technology roadmap & OKR’s
  • Develop strategic plans and set timelines for evaluation, development, and deployment of all technologies
  • Define and execute a strategic approach to scale the technology teams
  • Ensure proper performance monitoring of our tools and platforms
  • Ensure we have an efficient way to meet security standards and requirements
  • Define company standards for systems, equipment, and software
  • Provide regular market insights to ensure our technology strategy stays current and contributes to our competitive advantage

Process & Methodology

  • Review and optimize software development processes to ensure consistent and predictable delivery
  • Track and report on process-related metrics
  • Lead estimating and capacity planning activities
  • Advance methodology innovation to ensure we have space to utilize new approaches for delivering software while still meeting OKR’s and timelines

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with all business leaders across functions to identify and prioritize the company’s goals
  • Ensure a close partnership with the Product team to collectively bring high-quality software to our customers in accordance with requirements, quality standards and timelines
  • Form a close partnership with Professional Services & Customer Success to help troubleshoot any technical roadblocks and assist with any technology-related client escalation.
  • Work closely with our Sales team to help expand our client base
  • Attend and contribute to key business development meetings
  • Work closely with the Channel Sales team to develop partnerships

Requirements

  • Years of Experience:
  • 20+ years of experience as a technology leader required
  • 15+ years of experience managing cross-functional technology resources in a geo-distributed environment
  • 10+ years of experience working at software companies of similar size
  • Team Leadership:
  • Defined and managed OKR’s
  • Scaled technology teams to hundreds of team members
  • Managed and mentored senior team members
  • Managed performance review cycles and delivery reviews
  • Provided leadership across multiple offices
  • Experience with geo-dispersed teams
  • Played an impactful role on company leadership teams
  • Technology Strategy, Process & Methodology:
  • Architected complex platforms and developed enterprise-level technology roadmaps
  • Created and delivered on technology strategies for similarly sized companies
  • Experience running a 24x7 high-availability platform
  • Experience with our tech stack  
  • Designed, implemented, and optimized processes for development, QA, security, and IT.
  • Other:
  • Experience public speaking
  • Ability to travel globally 25% of your time
  • Deep understanding of digital advertising conversion, machine learning, and data
  • Experience with fundraising and taking a company public
