Digital humans are a key building block for the Metaverse in AR/VR, and are the bridge to Meta’s existing products. You will lead, define and develop Holograms and Avatars with a lighting, rendering, and shading focus to unlock innovative social experiences 3-5 years out. FX/Shading Technical Artist Responsibilities: * Own the shader development for use in real-time prototype experiences, and pre-viz, to inform future roadmaps.* Improve the visual quality and effects in real-time AR/VR experience prototypes.* Work with best-in-class Artists, Engineers, Researchers, and Designers to collaboratively develop the most cutting edge form of co-presence. Minimum Qualifications: * 5+ years of experience in game development as a Technical Art Director or Look Development Artist.* Expert level understanding of lighting, color, shading, and photography techniques.* Experience writing complex shader code or utilize tools like Amplify or Shader Graph.* Experience working across a wide variety of lighting methods, including HDR, IBL, pre-baked, and dynamic lighting.* Experience working across a scope of styles (graphic and realistic).* Experience with game profiling and optimization techniques in a real-time rendering environment.* Experience shipping products with stringent runtime performance constraints, such as complex mobile or 3D applications or games.* Experience collaborating on multi-disciplinary teams, including art, engineering, and design.* Experience with dynamic properties of skin appearance. Preferred Qualifications: * Deep knowledge of real-time graphics pipeline concepts.* Experience with Unreal.* Augmented and Virtual reality experience (Quest, Rift, VIVE, HoloLens, etc.).* Knowledge of emerging technologies, CV, ML and AI.
