***98% remote role. Candidates have to be local to NCAL to come in office in Oakland for occasional meetings. ***
Title: Human Resources Consultant
7 Months plus
Required Education Level Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Health Care Administration, Human Resources Management, Public Health or closely related field OR four (4) years’ experience in a directly related field
Top Daily Responsibilities: Consults with department managers, claims administration, legal, union representation, HR Peers through the course of managing disability cases. Consults with employees and managers regarding medical leaves, industrial leaves and maternity leaves. Manages an assigned caseload of employee disability cases. Maintains case documentation of actions and details of cases.
Top (3) Required Skills Candidate Should Have:
1)Demonstrated experience in managing cases involving the interactive process.
2) Demonstrated through work experience content knowledge of state and federal disability laws to include: ADA, FEHA, FMLA, CFRA, PDL and workers compensation.
3) Must demonstrate excellent, effective written and verbal communication, consulting, interpersonal and presentation disciplines.
Additional Skills Preferred
(Not Required) 1)Ability to consult regarding confidential and complex issues. 2) Must be able to work in a Labor/Management environment
Any specific system requirement or knowledge? Basic computer skills
