Learning Links by AbilityPath is hiring a Lead Teacher for our Inclusive Preschool in Mountain View!The Lead Teacher provides guidance and mentorship to other teachers, adapts the preschool curriculum to best support children with a variety of special needs, and collaborates with the preschool team and families in educating children in an inclusive and/or special day class environment with an emphasis on cognition, behavior, social-emotional development, and kindergarten readiness.WHAT WE OFFERAt AbilityPath we support a healthy and balanced life, these benefits include:Up to 4 weeks PTO for full time staff and 10 paid holidays!Comprehensive and affordable Medical, dental benefits upon hire401(k)Educational reimbursement and ongoing professional development and growth opportunities!Our Organization provides a well-rounded career experience, employee growth, promotions, recognition and BONUSES!!WHAT WE VALUEPassion for the missionTeamwork and CollaborationEffective communication thoughtfulness and ability to adaptShared commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in creating a community where all members can thrive as their authentic selfABOUT THE ROLE:Supervise day-to-day operations of inclusive preschool classroom and ensure overall health/safety of the program (including allergy awareness and other dietary restrictions) and adherence to licensing standardsLead staff in the supervision and guidance of children with special needs, ages 2 to 5 years old, including planning and implementation of classroom activitiesCollaborate w/ preschool teaching team, Inclusion Teacher, and Education Coordinator to create and adapt curriculum for children with special needs, identify developmental needs in children, advise and council parents regarding recommendations, and refer parents to appropriate resourcesParticipate in and conduct assessments and follow up with necessary reports: IEP, DRDP, ECERsResponsible for following all Title 22 regulations in the classroomComply with children’s rights, AbilityPath and program policies, CARF standards, NPS compliance, CCL regulations, CAL-OSHA, quality assurance standards, etcMust act as a Mandated Reporter, and responsible to report any known or suspected adult/child abuseMust comply with applicable federal, state and local regulations and lawsOther duties as assignedCOVID-19 RESPONSE:All employees are providing with training with the intent of protecting the health and safety of our staff and the people we serve:Providing PPE for all staff including gloves and face masks.Health screening for anyone entering a AbilityPath property including checking for fever and other symptoms.Acquiring and distributing sanitation supplies such as Clorox wipes and hand for all locations and vehicles.Frequent, professional deep cleanings.Closely following state and county health official orders and ensuring our plans align.Regular testing for our preschool staffEDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and ability is qualifying, unless otherwise specified.AA, Bachelor’s or Master’s in Early Childhood DevelopmentMinimum three years of experience working w/ children ages 3-5 in an inclusive environmentHIRING REQUIREMENTSProof of negative TB test resultsValid California Drivers License/IDClean Driving Record (if applicable)Verification of physical clearancePassing a criminal fingerprint clearance18 years of age or job permit clearanceProof of Covid-19 VaccinationPHYSICAL ACTIVITY:Accommodations made upon request to Human Resources Ability to physically respond to children with special needs Ability to lift at least 25 lbs. as needed Ability to sit, stand, stoop, and bend frequently Ability to sit and keyboard as neededEqual Employment OpportunityAbilityPath is an equal opportunity employer and makes employment decisions on the basis of merit.
