Adecco is currently recruiting for Lab Techs in the Oakland, CA Area. This position will work under the general supervision of the on-site manager to work collaboratively with the operations team to provide testing services to the clients.  These Lab Tech positions are long term, contract opportunities. The schedules for these positions depend on this major sports team and could change depend on practices, games, and special events, MUST BE FLEXIBLE
Lab Tech positions require candidates to act as a clinical professional, that will be responsible for collecting and processing specimens for testing 
Responsibilities for these Lab Tech positions include but are not limited to:

  • Follows written lab procedures for the correct handling and processing of specimens.
  • Performs lab procedures of waived moderate complexity in accordance with standards set forth in sectional POC procedures.
  • Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all technical procedures in the department and operations of all POC instrumentation. Reviews all pertinent SOPMs. Manipulate and operate simple and complex laboratory equipment including computers; problem-solve equipment malfunctions.
  • Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
  • Performs quality control procedures established for each method and maintains accurate records. Reviews and analyzes quality control data, identifies QC trends or problems, makes judgments, and takes appropriate corrective action. Prior to releasing any test results. (If applicable)
  • Notifies their Site Manager of any incidents or issues immediately
  • Follows protocols for acceptance/rejection of patient results.
  • Completes routine and STAT testing within acceptable turn-around time guidelines.
  • Participates in the evaluation and development of new procedures, methods, and instruments.
  • Package specimens for transport

    • Candidates must meet the following requirements to be considered for these Swabber/Phlebotomist positions:

  • MLT, LT or Associates of Science degree in medical technology, chemistry, biology, or related life science
  • Requires a high school diploma
  • Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed as required by state (CA & LA require license, FL requires certification)
  • State Licensure, where applicable.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
