Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Manager, the staff nurse provides and documents, goal-oriented nursing care to patients of all ages in accordance with the philosophy and policies of St. Mary’s Medical Center.  The staff nurse utilizes principles of the nursing process and coordinates clinically related activities to provide for the effective delivery of health care. Delivers care utilizing scientific principles.  The RN II is responsible to supervise the care given by the Care Licensed Vocational Nurses and others working under his/her direction. RN is actively involved in ensuring efficient patient flow as well as traige and screening by the physician for EMTALA compliance. Qualifications

Must have one year of acute care clinical experience as a Registered Nurse and have clinical competence relevant to the patient care area

Must be a graduate of an approved school of nursing

Minimum of 3-5 years combined experience in healthcare industry

Must have leadership ability and good communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to read and speak English clearly and be understood.

Must have current license in the State of California as a Registered Nurse.

Must have American Heart Association BLS certification.

Bachelor's degree in healthcare related field or equivalent professional experience.

PREFERRED:

Spirometry certification, audiometry (CAOHC), UDS and breath alcohol (BAT) Certified preferred

ACLS Certification preferred.

NLN accreditation preferred

BSN preferred
