We seek a highly experienced full-cycle GAAP Accounting professional with proven performance in Nonprofit Audits. The ideal candidate is a full-cycle GAPP Accountant with solid skills in managing the audit, managing the audit schedule, managing the deliverables as requested by the external auditors, partners with external auditors, and has served as the main point of contact within the audit. This Accountant applies a forensic approach to the accounting operations, dives down deep into the financials to complete the reconciliation, strong AP & AR, Journal Entries, Reconciliation, Month-End close, development & processing of financial statement, is highly adaptive, flexible, thrives in fast-paced & high volume transactional environments and with a strong aptitude to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects, is highly resourceful & not afraid of the unknowns.

ERP systems experience in MIP SAGE or SAGE intact, nice to have. This project is 100% Remote – Reports to the Director of Finance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Full Cycle Staff GAAP Accountant, GL, JE, Month End, Reconciliation, Variance Analysis, Financial Statements, AP & AR, Vendor Management, Bank reconciliation & balance sheet reconciliations
  • Audit, performs as the main point of contact in the audit, develops & manages the schedule, partners with the external auditor,
  • month-end close, reconciliation, accruals, prepaid, fixed assets, variance analysis, consolidation, tax, financial statement preparation, and development
  • Experience in journal entries, booking monthly activities for 30 properties, & rents, & report financials within GL, ensuring accuracy, have created upload; data entry within the MIP SAGE system, with month-end reporting
  • High level of accuracy with data entries, management of loan payments, capitalizes interest as they take place, during at month-end accounting process
  • Experience in management of financial packages, collaboration with internal & external stakeholders, commercial real estate group, property asset group, experience with variance analysis within financial statements
  • Skilled in drawing processes with properties to incur expenses, a compilation of bi-weekly & monthly reporting
  • Excellent communication, verbal & written, with solid customer service skills

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA Accounting or similar education experience
  • Systems experience in MIP Sage, or SAGE Intacct with moderate to advanced Excel
  • 5 + years in GL Accounting & Affordable Housing, Banking or Nonprofit, accounting experience a plus
  • Keen analytic, organization, and problem-solving skills which allow for strategic data interpretation versus simple reporting
  • Highly resourceful, forensic approach to accounting, logical problem solver
  • Strong business acumen and excellent team collaboration skills
