Department Overview

Applied Technology Services (ATS) is a multidisciplinary team of 110 engineers, scientists, and technicians committed to delivering high value services to all PG&E lines of business.  ATS has been providing technology based, innovative, high-value services to the company for over 35 years.  Our services include field operations, engineering, and testing at our laboratories in San Ramon.  

The Business Processes Unit within ATS provides support to the department for all administrative functions including payroll, payments, records, vehicles, scheduling and general administrative tasks.  Our ideal candidate is an experienced administrative professional who provides excellent customer service, is detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a team environment. 

Position Summary

This is a rewarding role within an interesting and dynamic department. Some of the core functions will include support of the departmental vehicles, cell phones and shared resources; procurement of safety and other lab supplies; support Concur and data entry; submit Facility and Corporate Security requests; participate with department teams; and fill in behind other team members.  The services rendered are valued and appreciated by our technical teams as they provide services to our department clients.

Job Responsibilities

  • Handles duties with minimal guidance or direction
  • Coordinate maintenance appointments and reservation system for ATS fleet vehicles
  • Support field employees with vehicle needs including safety equipment and supplies, safety audits, etc.
  • Perform general administrative duties including sorting & delivering mail, coordinating meetings held at ATS, ordering catering for meetings, scheduling conference rooms, overseeing office equipment, updating records, website upkeep, etc.
  • Enter and maintain data into systems and spreadsheets
  • Create procurement requests using Ariba for safety equipment and lab supplies, office supplies, etc.
  • Participate with department wide teams as a representative of our unit (e.g., Safety Team, Innovation Team, Green Team, etc.) and special projects as assigned
  • Assist other team members when needed on other administrative tasks   
  • Ensure department compliance with company policies and guidelines for your areas of responsibility
  • Manage employee expense accounts through Concur application in accordance with company travel policies

Pre-Employment Testing

  • Clerical Test Battery



  • High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
  • Minimum of three years of general office/administrative experience
  • Internal PG&E Employees: Must have qualified on the Clerical Test Battery (CTB) exam prior to applying
  • External Candidates: Must qualify on the Clerical Test Battery (CTB) exam prior to interviewing


  • Fleet related applications, CATS timecard application, SAP for Materials and Controlling Modules
  • Concur, Ariba procurement application
