The Strategy & Communications Lead will be part of the TDSRI’s shared services team, reporting to the Head of the Office of Execution and Strategy for TDSRI. 

This critical Strategy & Communications role will coordinate internally with the TDSRI leadership team to develop and execute a high impact, multi-channel communications.

As an essential team leader, you’ll contribute meaningful input into Wells Fargo’s internal DE&I transformation, while also playing a valuable role in telling the story of that transformation to senior executive stakeholders, employees and partners internally – as well as external messaging opportunities (e.g. social media, conferences etc.). Because of where this role sits within TDSRI, there’s an understanding analytics will feature prominently in how progress is communicated and in using data to recommend new programs/products/services or illustrate the ongoing TDSRI momentum over time.
A successful candidate will be a master communicator who maintains a strategic, big-picture mindset while being fluent with data, and of course, exhibiting a passion for TDSRI and doing social good. 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Partner with executive leadership to define diversity strategies and execute on diversity driven business initiatives and support these efforts thru the creation and delivery of a strategic marketing and communications plan (internal and external outcomes)
  • Create and or support various regular presentations for the TDSRI Team, Operating Committee, Board of Directors, and external regulators that cohesively and artfully communicate TDSRI status, updates on key business plans, and performance against strategic objectives; help direct where Wells Fargo will focus on its DSRI journey
  • Collaborate with other TDSRI stakeholders to create compelling data story and craft/drive strategies that result in positive outcomes for diverse segments based on effective communications, marketing and branding (articles, talking points, key messages document, overview materials, videos)
  • Incorporate competitive research and diverse segment benchmarking of primary competitors and other companies outside of Financial Services for a robust perspective on Wells Fargo’s performance to understand competitor marketing, branding, messaging and associated activities
  • Maintain internal websites for latest value proposition, marketing and imagery internally; action diverse communications as needed (videos, presentations, talking points, key note speaker notes as internal examples); assist and/or lead external content requirements for social media, conferences etc.
  • Connect TDSRI into Wells Fargo’s overarching business objectives and collaborate across the enterprise to drive change – work with stakeholders firm wide to communicate out TDSRI momentum
  • Implement controls and processes to ensure adherence to relevant risk management, legal and compliance expectations and requirements on marketing/branding – understand best firm and industry practices. Ability to drive closure and create best in class marketing

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of strategic planning experience
  • 5+ years of experience creating and executing communication plans across social media, internal and digital channels

Other Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in marketing and branding strategy, grounded in rigorous data analytics, and ability to create compelling messaging to support internal and external communications objectives
  • Experience developing communications strategies and plans that focus on differentiation, value creation and brand enhancement
  • Experience working with the media and external conferences; social media SME
  • Experience prepping senior executives and leaders for high profile media interviews, conferences, panels  or speaking engagements
  • Dynamic, flexible and execution oriented approach – ability to multi-task, drive transformation and deliver best in class marketing and communications products
  • Demonstrated passion for diversity, equity and inclusion with knowledge of DE&I strategy and objectives
  • Gifted data storyteller with the ability to present information that persuades, educates and enhances understanding at all levels of an organization
  • Deep experience synthesizing data from multiple sources into actionable insights 
  • Experience gaining credibility, respect and consensus through strategic vision and outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to lead and influence in a matrixed environment with a strong collaborative style, sense of urgency and bias toward execution, and demonstrated adaptability
  • Demonstrated organizational, planning and coordination skills across multiple activities simultaneously
  • Strategic business partner who can balance the need for innovation and a cultural readiness for change with regulatory realities and an internal need to manage risk
  • Knowledge of Financial Services and other related industries (technology, retail, etc.) with understanding of emerging trends, compliance, regulatory, and economic environment, and the impact to Wells Fargo
  • Undergraduate college degree; Master’s Degree strongly preferred
  • 7+ years of communications experience in one or more of the following disciplines: public relations, media relations or corporate communications
  • 3+ years of strategy consulting experience
  • Superb written, verbal and design skills (powerpoint, video etc)
