Role Profile

Based out of our San Francisco, CA office, the Executive Director, Business Development Law Firms will be an experienced relationship builder who can also develop productive and mutually beneficial partnerships. You will have the opportunity to work with leading venture law firms and bring our leading equity management and liquidity solutions to their clients. This position will play a pivotal role contributing to Morgan Stanleys growing private market eco-system.

Primary Responsibilities

Identify and create internal champions for Morgan Stanley at Works products and services across the venture law firm market
Design and implement programs and go-to market strategies to enable distribution across our core product offerings and increase our velocity as a team
Actively monitor key trends in the venture capital industry to inform strategy and stakeholders
Meet with current and prospective law firms and represent Morgan Stanley at industry events
Identify the right stakeholders among prospective organizations and educate them on Morgan Stanley at Works value proposition
Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, sales, product) to drive the success of law firms and their clients
Leverage Salesforce to map law firm contacts and key relationships
Build reporting and analytics to drive decisions and measure performance
Lead the development the education, content, and positioning to engage law firm representatives and their clients

A Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance or Economics
8 years experience in strategic partnerships, business development or sales
Experience working with VC-backed private companies and a strong understanding of the venture eco-system
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with product managers, marketers and sales
Strong communication and relationship building skills with an ability to interface with senior leadership, both internally and externally
Experience working with partners, channels, and integrators to build strategic offerings that drive awareness, demand and sales
Understanding of equity management, stock plans, 409A valuations and liquidity preferred
Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills
Able to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment which includes ongoing learning and training opportunities
