OPPO U.S. Research Center in Palo Alto is in search of an experienced Network Systems Engineer to join our IT team!
Responsibilities:
- Perform network planning, design, implementation & optimization, including routers, switches, firewalls, WAC and other network appliances.
- Responsible for network security including network access control, ACLs, intrusion detection, behavior monitoring.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed.
- Support machine learning GPU cluster network environment
- Support daily LAN/WAN/WIFI offices and remote users
- Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to utilize industry best practices
Requirements:
- ( 3+ ) years of experience in designing, deploying, and implementing route/switch/firewall on data center networks required
- ( 2+ ) years of experience of Linux systems administrator or power user required.
- Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switch experience required
- Experience with Wireless network design, setup, turning and troubleshooting is required, Aruba system experience preferred
- Network zoning security and network access management experience required, Fortinet firewall preferred
- Experience network design models (L2/L3, VPC, Spanning tree, VTP, VLANs, HSRP, OSPF, etc)
- InfiniBand experience is a plus
- Working technical knowledge of DHCP, TFTP, PXE ,SNMP, VPN, IPSec, AAA, Radius, 802.1x,
- Experience of setup and use network monitoring tools
- At least one scripting code skills such as Bash or Python.
- Experience with network automation using Ansible , Puppet or other orchestration tools is a plus
- Working knowledge of docker/containers, Kubernetes is a plus.
- Knowledge or experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware is a plus
- Network storage experience is a plus, NetApp preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with the ability to work well in a collaborative environment.
- Highly self-motivated and directed
- Related degree in computer science or electrical engineering, Cisco certification or equivalent work experience preferred
