Our client, a highly respected and renowned AmLaw 100 law firm specializing in employment defense and construction litigation is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal for immediate hire in its San Francisco office. The Litigation Paralegal will be responsible for the following:

•      Manage caseloads including preparation for trial, mediation and alternative dispute resolution on litigation matters.

•      Generate and edit memos, charts, databases, spreadsheets, tables and indexes.

•      Summarize evidence including discovery responses, deposition transcripts, medical records, employment records and hearing transcripts. 

•      Use the firm’s timekeeping program to track and release all billable time according to the monthly schedule determined by the firm’s Accounting Department. (The Firm’s billable goal of 1650 hours per year will be considered during the annual review process. The Firm’s Managing Partner, Practice Group Leaders, Executive Director and Litigation Support Services Manager will identify what non-billable time, if any, will be applied to the goal).

•      Organize and manage large volumes of evidence utilizing various systems (e.g. databases, tables, spreadsheets, alpha or date sorting of hard copies), depending on the needs of the firm’s attorneys and clients.

•      Generate comprehensive status memos, summaries and e-mails regarding case activities and factual issues on an ongoing basis. 

•      Demonstrate good communication skills (written and verbal) and a command of the English language, including proper use of spelling and grammar. 

•      Maintain current knowledge of Local Rules, CCP, FRCP and any other applicable codes and regulations.

•      Coordinate and communicate with parties outside the Firm such as clients, courts, opposing and co-counsel, vendors as well as attorneys, secretaries, paralegals, case assistants, managers and other staff in-house.

•      Lifts and carry boxes of documents weighing 10-30 pounds on a frequent basis. 

•      Work overtime hours as needed.
