We are seeking exceptional candidate(s) for our Scientist (In Vitro) positions.

MUST HAVE: FLOW, CYTOKINES, and ELISA experience.

Salary: $80k-$100K

Schedule: 7am-4pm, Monday-Friday (Some Weekends and Overtime)

GENERAL SUMMARY

Scientist I, II, or III In Vitro Program works under the direct supervision of the Supervisor/Manager along with the general guidance of the Scientists and senior personnel. Scientist In Vitro Program are proficient in laboratory procedures and the in vitro portion of the grant, internal, and/or contract research studies according to the study protocols and to the company guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES


• Independently reads and understands study protocols and relevant SOPs prior to performing associated duties on designated research projects;


• Performs in vitro portions of a study cycle for a grant, internal, and/or contract research studies including, but not limited to:

o RNA/DNA purification;

o Real-time PCR/RT-PCR; PCR;

o Reagent and dose formulations for in vivo studies;

o ELISA, ELISPOT;

o Multicolor flow cytometry (cell preparation and analysis);

o Preparation of virus stock, virus titration, antibody neutralization, and T-cell assays;

o Cell preparation and culture (human and animal cell isolation, magnetic bead cell purification);

o Clinical chemistries and CBCs;

o Additional assay system development based on project needs


• Generates in vitro forms, including study and formulation forms, data labels, and data files.


• Performs data quality control review according to SOPs or study protocols.


• May work directly with Scientists and Scientific Directors on assigned projects.


• Comprehends procedures and performs tasks according to company policies and SOPs.


• Complies with all regulatory guidelines, occupational health as well as health and safety programs, in accordance with company policies and procedures.


• Performs other related Research Associate duties as required.

PROBLEM-SOLVING/DECISION MAKING


• Scientist perform duties according to written protocols and company-established SOPs.


• Exercises independent judgment to solve problems, edit and create documents, involved in establishing new processes.


• Obtains assistance or reports problems to supervisor or senior personnel.

PLANNING

Scientist provide information to improve current procedures or methods, SOPs, study protocols, IACUC’s or other related study documents

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Scientist I (InVitro):


• AS or BS Degree in Science (or equivalent degree).

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a

satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

Scientist II (InVitro):

2 years of Laboratory Animal Science experience including supervisory experience.

Certifications preferred: ALAT, LAT or LATG


• AS or BS Degree in Science (or equivalent degree).

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a

satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

Scientist III (InVitro):

5 years of Laboratory Animal Science experience including supervisory experience.

Certifications preferred: ALAT, LAT or LATG


• AS or BS Degree in Science (or equivalent degree).

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a

satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


• Personnel working with animals or animal-derived samples must provide proof of measles (MMR- Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or updated titer prior to initial contact with animals or animal-derived samples.


• Personnel working with animals or animal-derived samples must provide documented proof of current negative results of TB testing within the past calendar year or be tested prior to initial contact with animals. Annual tuberculosis screening is required of all employees working in the laboratory setting.


• Physical dexterity to lift 50 - 100 lb in weight.


• Manual dexterity to operate facility equipment.


• Visual acuity to handle potentially hazardous chemicals, cleaners, biologics (including, but not limited to direct handling of human byproducts and viruses) and/or sharps.


• Has the ability to withstand ambient temperatures which may exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit.


• Personnel must be able to carry out the essential functions of this position with reasonable accommodation if disabled.

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS


• Biological safety level (BSL) 1 and 2 laboratory and vivarium settings.


• Potential of exposure to disinfectants, chemicals, biologics, animal dander, and dust.


• Normal scientific laboratory conditions.


• May work with hazardous materials and unpleasant odors.
