Yoh is seeking a Research Scientist/Sr. Research Scientist o support our Biotechnology client in South San Francisco, CA for full-time direct hire role. This role will support a cellular research group and will require extensive work with T cells and immunoassays.

Hours: Mon-Fri day hours, flexible

You will play a critical role in the dynamic and cross-functional personalized product development team focused on building personalized T cell therapy in collaboration with large pharma company. This position will support the implementation and optimization of the cellular workflow within personalized TCR discovery, including but not limited to cell sorting, DNA/RNA extraction and T cell functional assay development. This position will also contribute to technology development through exploration of new methods and optimization of existing protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute in-vitro immune cell biology-based assays to support TCR discovery efforts.
  • Execute flow cytometric-based immune cell phenotyping and cell sorting.
  • Perform DNA/RNA extractions to support personalized TCR discovery efforts.
  • Follow SOPs and practice good documentation for a GLP Laboratory.
  • Perform equipment maintenance according to the laboratory’s standard operating procedures.
  • Organize workflow to handle incoming samples efficiently and accurately by following SOPs with a high emphasis on quality.
  • Maintain sufficient inventory of material, supplies and equipment in the laboratory for daily performance of duties.
  • Review, analyze, and interpret data and results, and report findings to manager.
  • Help with ongoing technology development effort as needed.
  • Work across teams and work in tandem with team to optimize existing protocols and assays.

Requirements 

  • Minimum experience: Bachelor’s degree with 5 plus years’ experience or Master’s degree with 3+ plus years’ experience in molecular biology or related field
  • Strong background in cellular biology including 2+ years' experience with in-vitro T-cell based assays, flow cytometry and cell sorting.
  • Experience with basic molecular biology techniques including DNA and RNA extractions and PCR.
  • Ability to maintain organized and detailed records.
