The Senior Scientific Director Is a scientific expert who is responsible for providing strategic direction to ensure that all program content Is aligned with clients' objectives and is medically accurate and valuable. It is the Senior Scientific Director's responsibility to ensure that work delivered to the client Is of the highest quality and consistently exceeds expectations he or she will be seen as a content expert and strategic resource by the client and will be expected to lead the client during meetings, workshops, and content review. As Senior Scientific Director, you may be called upon to contribute scientific acumen and medical marketing strategy to business across the healthcare capability within VMLY&R, including medical education, HCP promotion, and consumer. Furthermore, you will be expected to grow business organically and to actively contribute to new business efforts including pitches. You will also help to recruit, train, and nurture the more junior medical staff Including direct reports. You have a passion for communicating about science and have a science background that has trained you to learn new therapeutic areas quickly. You enjoy thinking about creative ways to communicate data and disease state concepts and find it interesting when you can think about data in different ways. A strong desire to jump in and learn on the job is critical, as this is a collaborative and team-based environment. You have the ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment where collaboration amongst not only other scientists, but also client engagement team members, strategists, and clients is common and is a key to success. If you are interested in having the potential to expand beyond medical education and explore other capabilities within healthcare marketing, then VMLY&R is the place for you Responsibilities Contribute to, and demonstrate an in-depth understanding of clients' strategies and be able to discuss business Issues with confidence Research therapeutic areas and educate staff about science, clinical and marketing Issues Provide ongoing updates of medical issues that may impact clients' brands Recommend new programs and tactics based upon knowledge of product marketing strategy and life cycle - conceive, develop, and drive communication strategies and tactics that align with clients' brands and support business objectives Review programs for compliance with strategy and for medical accuracy and appropriateness, provide guidance and direction to scientific associates and other staff as needed Collaborate with other capabilities within VMLY&R to develop strategies and programs that generate transformative medical education work Drive development of scientific platforms that are strategically aligned with client/brand objectives and aspirations; continually Identify ways to improve and evolve the scientific platform offering to best meet the needs of clients Establish trust and confidence with the client by demonstrating pharmaceutical Industry expertise, drive, and competence in delivering on the brand's communication strategy Supervise and guide the implementation of programs in collaboration with the client engagement team Cultivate relationships with key opinion leaders to drive clinically relevant communications Partner with client engagement staff to build and maintain strong client relationships Conduct presentations for clients and healthcare providers when needed Prepare reports and briefs as necessary Immerse In new business growth, both organic and new opportunities As part of the WPP Group, VMLY&R offers one of the best overall compensation packages in the business.
