Job Description:

The SVP of Finance will be responsible for all International accounting and finance activities and report to the Chief Executive Office. This position will lead a globally distributed team, with direct oversight of financial planning & analysis (FP&A), cost accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing. The SVP of Finance will own financial reporting as well as internal controls for the Media and Advertising division while partnering closely with corporate office in Japan and other Company affiliates. 

Responsibilities

  • Guide the Controller in managing day-to-day accounting activities, including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, while driving strategic accounting policy
  • Lead, recruit, interview and hire finance and accounting staff as required
  • Ensure production of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with IFRS and statutory reporting standards
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close activities, meeting corporate deadlines
  • Lead Corporate FP&A processes and reporting ensuring global alignment
  • Develop and maintain accurate monthly and quarterly PL forecasts for the region, proactively identifying and preempting forecast variances
  • Plan and complete global operating budget in alignment with Company corporate targets
  • Prepare and present monthly financial reports to Executive Leadership and corporate offices, including monthly profit and loss, forecast vs. budget and cash flow
  • Review and analyze monthly financial results and provide recommendations
  • Communicate, engage and interact with Executive Leadership Team, Japan Head Office and Corporate FP&A
  • Respond to requests for data from other parts of organization, including business partners, Japan Head Office, and Corporate FP&A
  • Keep updated and perform all corporate internal audit documentation and requests
  • Oversee internal and external audit, ensuring compliance and success with no material findings
  • Implement policies, procedures and processes to improve operational efficiency, reducing additional headcount needs 
  • Supervise and own creation of reports, ensuring adequate adoption of software tools for budgeting and forecasting
  • Benchmark operations with other regions, looking for better practices and synergies

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline. Master’s Degree preferred
  • Prior experience as a VP Finance in a multi-national, preferably technology, organization
  • 15+ years total finance experience
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance and SEC reporting.
  • Systems implementation experience a must. Background coordinating with I.T. staff to manage and/or upgrade accounting system – SAP experience preferred
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated leadership with ability to motivate staff
  • Significant experience working with external auditors, internal controls and compliance-related issues
  • Experience and success leading and managing in an international business context
