Position Summary:

The position will direct daily and tactical logistics operations. Service Levels, quality, efficiency, cost effectiveness controls and value will be the drivers to meeting and exceed our customer's expectation through industry best-practices, metrics, and development of win-win relationship with internal and external customers and partners. The position supports Supply Chain, Sales Support, Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and Finance. The position will validate inbound, outbound logistics cost/ expenses, supporting Key Account customers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Track purchase orders and shipments by entering pertinent data into various systems, including SAP and the Microsoft suite of programs as well as generating various reports to meet and manage business needs
  • Managing the logistics carriers needed to deliver inbounds and outbound shipments to and from our project sites, distribution centers and customers
  • Managing and communicating accurate information to the Key Account customers for inbound shipments coming into our ports of arrival
  • Analyzes transit times, port prices, and terminal capacity to plan for international shipments
  • Daily review and communication of shipment delivery (ETD) and arrival (ETA) data to Internal teams
  • Tracking and resolving risks during shipment of materials from origin to destination
  • Provides solutions to conflicts that occur in the process of shipment prior to delivery
  • Analyzes capacities and cost of present and potential vendors
  • Will be trained as backup for customs activities
  • Involved with HQ and Caribbean ports to ensure that all documentation and instructions are properly followed per government requirements
  • Analyzes and evaluates KPIs of current vendors to optimize process, services, and contract adjustments
  • Provide guidance on port cost, transload locations, and performance strategies for project deliveries.
  • Provide the legal department input on current status on any Force Majeure events affecting our supply chain
  • Ensure all Logistic transactions are captured, processed, and finalized in SAP (ERP) and/or any other company data-capturing platforms
  • Manage all new carrier on boarding as well as scheduling all quarterly business reviews
  • Manage all insurance claims for inventory damaged by freight vendors
  • Managing SAP entries that create shipping documentation for exporting to our MCC (Mexico, Caribbean, and Central America) and Asia
  • Managing the logistics carriers daily to ensure delivery of inbounds and outbound shipments to and from our warehouses
  • Analyzes transit times, port prices, and terminal capacity to plan for international shipments
  • Suggests warehouse/port cost, location, and performance strategies for policy/process optimization
  • Track and expedite sample shipment customs clearance and deliveries.
  • Freight audit sample and inbound freight invoices for rate/billing accuracy
  • Maintain current vendor freight rate historical data
  • Update Inbound Logistics Guide as necessary
  • Award outbound shipment volumes to transportation vendors for last mile transportation from warehouse to customer
  • Resolve any and all escalation between customers and transportation partners
  • Oversea and manage domestic transportation activities including LTL/FTL and intermodal
  • Maintain accurate filing of all signed documents such as BOL's, POD's Commercial Invoice, etc. for Caribbean and Central America
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with freight brokers, carriers, 3PL partners and internals customer base
  • Manage all freight quotes and selection for domestic transportation

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years with SAP Experience
  • Associates degree required, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 4-6 years job experience in logistics, including FTL/LTL, Ocean, including freight audit and payment processing
  • Advance Excel skills required, Pivot Tables, VLookups, and Formulas & Functions
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Project Plan, Visio)
  • Customer service experience and strong communication skills required
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly, concisely, and professionally with multiple levels of management.
  • Results oriented, organized, highly motivated, and detailed with the ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Ability to travel to warehouses, job sites, and vendor locations
  • Strong TMS experience preferred, implementation experience would be beneficial
  • Strong adaptability to new systems and technical platforms
